The Padlock of Love and Highest View in Seoul Tower
October 18, 2016
Edit
I thought last year, 2015 would be my first and last year visit to South Korea, but turns out this October 2016 became my second visit to South Korea. I am feeling so excited about writing this South Korea journeys as I found those little gems that become the reasons why most of people said South Korea is a beautiful country. Apart of the geography fact that this country is being surrounded by so many mountains, it felt amazing to be able to know more about its culture.
We departed from Soekarno Hatta International Airport with Garuda Indonesia Airline to Incheon International Airport. Incheon is about 1-1,5 hour from Seoul, the flight time itself took about 6 hours with time difference Indonesia is 2 hours behind South Korea. Flying over the sunrise is my favorite flight time !
Took a night flight, I arrived in Incheon at 08.00 AM, there was Korean girl has been waiting for us holding a sign board named Korea Tourism Organization. This is Jeannie, our beautiful Korean tour guide. With a super hungry stomach, Jeannie took us walking around the Seoul Tower. A little burger restaurant was being a hero of my craving stomach at my first day in South Korea.
Seoul Tower is so famous as the highest peak in Seoul, with the height 236 meter, we can see 360 view of Seoul city from above. While waiting for my burger, I managed to strolling around the area where those lovebirds lock their love in a padlock.
As a country that famous by its romantic Korea Drama, so many tourists are being hypnotized of the belief of whoever put the padlocks and write the name of the couple in it will have a long lasting relationship. But, Besides that belief, those colorful padlocks beautifully decorate the wooden deck.
I know when I write this, there would be some question asking “so Kadek, did you manage to have your own love padlock ?” Hmmm…..maybe someday J
Decided to go up to the highest floor of Seoul tower, we bought a ticket for 10.000 won (USD 12) for adult. As I arrived at the top, I was pretty excited seeing all the view of Seoul city. The only thing that disappointed me at that moment was the cloudy weather Lwhich was totally a matter for me as it would bother the result of the photos I have to produce. But well, sometimes we have to put away all the gadgets and enjoy all the experiences in front of us, either good or bad, that’s what called adventure.
The highest floor was covered by a transparent tempered glass where you can see everything from above. There are also a couple of souvenir shops and a photo booth place where I captured a couple who were not young anymore did a photo shoot with Korean traditional clothes. They look so shy and nervous, yet still look so cutee !!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
10.000 won for adult, and 8.500 won for children
